The Beginnings of A New Reality
Also do not feel bad because you are not alone in this, every woman, whether they care to admit it has been a mattress.
You may be asking yourself what does it mean to be a mattress? Well let's think about what purpose a mattress serves - it serves as a place to sleep, a place of comfort, a place to rest thngs on, but at the same time it is an object and has no feelings and no ability to communicate. This is how some men in this world unfortunately view us.
While some see us as a place of comfort, some men view as just an inanimate object that serves only as a dumping ground and nothing more, nothing less.
Think about it, this devastating, overwhelming new reality will begin to sit in.

Social Media: Is It Making Us "Anti-Social?"
I was thinking today as I walked into the elevator at my office and observed two men deeply engrossed in whatever they were doing on their crackberries. Sometimes when I am on the elevator with people like that I just want to scream out "Hello Everybody!" Just to see if they are not too far gone to at the very least be startled by it. LOL!
If you ever observe the world around you, that is if you are not too into your smartphone you have to wonder is "social" media making us anti-social? Everytime you go to a Starbucks or get on an elevator, people are standing in line with smartphones and iPads facebooking, twittering, texting, and emailing away. Meanwhile no greeting or eye contact is made.
Funny thing about trying to ignore the world around you as you escape into cyberspace is that "crazy" will still talk to you no matter how engrossed you are in whatever text, email, or status update you are engrossed in. Ever been on public transportation or just minding your own business and the crazy homeless Bob will roll up on you and demand $4, which in your mind you're like "what happened to asking for change or a $1! WTH man!?"
But all jokes aside, The Diva wants to encourage you all to do a social experiment and this is one for those of us who do not use our phones for work purposes, let's put down our phones down when we go into a business, like Starbucks. Let's put down the iPads. Let's get out and go get social! Go to the local watering hole and talk to the bartender Joe that Frank Sinatra used to sang about. Look up and make social contact with a breathing, living, red-blooded human being in its physical form, not just it's virtual when you are waiting for the train or going to pick up that Chinese carry-out.
This was just a random thought I had today and I thought to myself, what better way to get back active on my blog than to share this random thought with all of you!
Stay fabulous people ;-)

Fatal Beauty: Until Death Do Us Part
Women these days have just taken things a little too far. In fact instead of cosmetic surgery they need to seek the counsel of a mental health professional. Anytime you think its cool to mosey on down to your local hardware store, Lowe's or Home Depot to purchase silicone to inject into your body you've got beyond issues, you've got made issues! This young woman lost her life because she was wanting to have a plumper butt. Bet if she could she would wish that she had just sacrificed 6 weeks in the gym doing lunges and squats to achieve the same result. What's next!? Using drywall or asphalt to create rock hard abs? Either you got it or you don't. And let's be real, the majority of women with butts are those of African descent who for years were deemed to be fat and not worthy to walk the catwalks of Milan and Paris, but now all of sudden, butts are in. All I got to say is that I am glad that I have been bountifully blessed and I do not have to worry about desperately seeking a butchering "beauty" professional to plump up my butt. Some people really just need to learn to be content with what they got because trying to achieve a body to "die for" is not worth dying for. That's all...Diva!

My "Blue Valentine" - A Story of the Death of a Relationship!
I am a huge Ryan Gosling fan and he did an excellent job of acting in his latest and greatest with actress Michelle Williams. This movie is essentially about the life and death of a relationship between two people who in the beginning were fun and fancy free. They were together for a time, but then discovered that one person's volatility in the relationship was more than one could bear. The relationship of Ryan and Michelle's characters started out red hot and in the end it is cold as ice, blue. The soundtrack that played in my mind while watching this was Alica Keys' "Wreckless Love," Anduze's "Shakespere," Prince's "Strange Relationship," and Prince's "Sometimes It Snows In April." In sum, what's the point of holding on when the thrill is gone and its just not working anymore. Sometimes walking away is best, especially when children are involved. The toxicity of a relationship should never spill into the life of an innocent child who did not ask to be here to begin with!
As not to give too much away I must advise that the NR-17 rating is much needed for this film. There are a couple of racy scenes that children need not view!
Is this a movie The Diva recommends? Yes! Should you go see it on Valentine's Day? No, this is not a romance movie per se so don't expect it to ignite fire and desire between you and your mate! If anything, it may give each of your pause and who knows, by the end of the night your relationship will also turn to blue.
That is all for now! Let's go to the movies! That's what The Diva says!
